My fiance and I both took our outfits to Dmitriy for our rehearsal dinner. He tailored the suit perfectly within a WEEK (needed the arms and legs shortened and legs tapered), and hemmed my skirt exactly the way I wanted. He is also so efficient – it is clear that he has been doing this for years and is very good at his job. The process was quick and easy – he only needed to take a few measurements and knew exactly what we wanted to tailor perfectly. We drove up from DC to work with Dmitriy and we will continue to do so! I am so happy that I found Dmitriy. I recently bought a very expensive suit for my wedding in September from Paul Smith in New York and the sales associate sent me a suit that was entirely too large for my body. I was frustrated that such a boutique place like Paul Smith would be so careless especially with such a meaningful purchase on my end. When the suit arrived hanging off my body, I was scared that there wasn’t a way to tailor the suit to have it fit my body. When I went to DG Alterations, there were a few things that stood out to me. One was the level of professionalism from Dmitriy as he carefully took my measurements and assured me that he could fix the suit for me. The second item was a few other customers who were in the store at the same time expressing their sincerest gratitude for the work Dmitriy did for them. I came back today to pick it up and I felt like I was wearing a different suit. It fit me nicely, it looked great, and my fiancée had the biggest smile seeing how great it looked. I initially dealt with Marcia when I brought several dress pants in for alteration. She was very pleasant & professional, making a couple of recommendations concerning the alterations. When I picked then up, Dmitriy was in the store, had me try each pair on to ensure they were properly altered. He too was very pleasant & professional. Once again Dmitriy did an excellent job in a very short amount of time, even though I said there was no rush. He was not sure about doing this job as he had not altered curtains before. We met twice before he did the job as he wanted to be sure that everything was right before he cut the curtains for the new windows. I was very grateful not only for the excellent job he did but that he was willing to take on the job at all. I had called around quite a number of places to find someone to do the job, but no one wanted to alter curtains unless they had made them in their workshops or were reluctant to make a commitment. Dmitriy gives 100% to his work.
Dmitriy was very professional and seemed to know what he was doing. He suggested several things as we were doing the first fitting. He was able to get all of the alterations done that same day even though I did not pay for ‘rush’ work. When I came back two of the three garments needed further alterations and he noted the changes and went back to get them done. He was efficient and detail orientated, and I couldn’t be happier with the results.
Dmitriy Grunin is a Master Tailor. He carefully fit and altered several suits impeccably. He has done so multiple times for me and for members of my family. Moreover, he made important suggestions about fit for body style and what size/cut of garments would be best to yield the best post alteration fit. He simply would not let you leave with the wrong garment for you. He is modest in cost and does not artificially do things to inflate prices, rather, he is conscious of keeping costs to his client’s down. He has altered everything from Tuxedo, Suits, Sports Coats and Slacks for me. I will certainly use his services again.
We just used Dmitry for my daughter’s homecoming dress alterations. We needed straps moved on a custom gown, and he added a slit and hemmed the dress. The professionalism, speed and his attention to detail will keep us coming back and referring our friends. He was done in less than a week.
